Description: Studies repeatedly show that in a large number of foods, mineral oils migrate in detectable concentrations from the packaging or printing inks into the food. The analysis of foodstuffs with regard to the migration of mineral oil is becoming increasingly important. At the same time, however, the need for information on measurement precision, repeatability and comparability of the test methods is also increasing. The determination of defined mineral oil components from jute bags by extraction are the objectives of this proficiency test. The proficiency test is suitable for all laboratories that routinely perform or would like to establish the examination of mineral oil contents in jute bags.
